Pregnancy: Week 19

Holy backache.

That's right. I'm complaining. Week 19 has been a week of heating pads and bubble baths. I have to admit that I was shocked that I'm having so much back pain already. I anticipated it, but not until the third trimester. However, it's apparently very common for women to develop back pain throughout the second. Rubbish. Apparently it doesn't take much for a person's center of gravity to shift. Pair that with the bump pulling the spine slightly forward and ding, ding, ding... You've earned yourself an evening of misery.

I do enjoy rolling around in the floor with our animals when my back starts with the shenanigans. I'll make a pallet and stretch and cuddle with our 100 lb. puppy. Who, by the way, has without a doubt noticed that something is going on. Just this week he started following me around (even more than usual) and feels the need to be close to me. He even snapped at a dog at the dog park who got too close. He's not an aggressive dog, so I'm excusing the barbaric behavior as an attempt to... Protect me? I'm not worried about our pets with our baby. They are all very loving and sweet animals and quite honestly I think they will love the baby and welcome him/her right into the Ashworth pack.

Just another night in the Ashworth household.

I suppose it's time for another belly photo
You'll notice in both photos I'm wearing tee shirts that I bamboozled from Ben's drawers. They're a bit more roomy and comfortable for when we're at home, even though they fit a bit more like dresses. Oh, oh! I felt the baby move from the outside this week! It was pretty phenomenal. I wasn't really expecting to feel anything, but I had my hand resting there hopefully anyhow. I was surprised and delighted when I did feel the thump on the outside! It still feels like someone is thumping me from inside, but the frequency is increasing.

We'll know very soon if we're having a boy or girl! Eeeeee!
