Pregnancy: Week 35

Holy cow. That accurately describes both how I'm feeling AND looking these days. I just rolled over into week 36, but I'm just recapping 35. The first part of the week was the same old, but then something happened on Friday and I took a sharp turn into uncomfortableness.

Ben and I met with our doula Stephanie this week. Using a doula isn't really common, but I really think it should be, especially for women aiming for a natural birth. A doula is just additional labor support. She is a trained and experienced professional who provides continuous physical, emotional and informational support to the mother before, during and just after birth. We have a doula thanks to my sister. She thoughtfully covered the expense of her services for us and I'm so grateful. Family is 5-6 hours away, so it brings me a lot of peace of mind knowing that we'll have another support person here with us in the event that family doesn't make it in time.

My parents and sister came down for the weekend to help me finish up the nursery. Unfortunately, I was pretty useless the whole time they were here. I'm just so grateful for family. Thanks to them the nursery is essentially done. There's just a few minor decor related things left for me to finish up, so I'll be sharing the whole room very soon! But in the mean time, here's a few moments.

I can't believe that this pregnancy whirlwind will be over soon. I feel like I check the pregnancy app on my phone and look at the calendar about 20 times a day. I'm just so ready for her to be here.
